The Spring of Ardoc
Shorthill has long existed as a quiet town in the northwest reaches of Ardoc in a small valley of the Applewood hills. Shielded by many of the other communities farther south from harm, little has changed even as the cold reached its zenith. As a mixed community, no single family lays claim to rule. Instead, a duly appointed mayor presides over the town council to make any day to day decisions. The largest gnome clan in Ardoc as well as a thriving Halfling community coexist with humans, elves and half-elves.
1. Underhill Hall
Serving as both community meeting space and emergency storage, a great hall has been built into the hillside with large double doors and high windows that can be closed with heavy shutters opening to the road. • The Constable is Inigo Hillstead (halfling fighter lvl 4) assisted by 3 other constables as well as head of town militia.
2. Temple to Saulen
Sitting along the main way, this is the most open and tolerant of the Saulen temples in Ardoc. Many who choose to serve him but do not tolerate the more zealous ways of the main temple migrate here to study and serve. As a result, very little assistance arrives from the main temple but rather from the local are only. While not grand, it is still a large temple open to the sky with rooms circling the inner court serving as hospital on the main floor and quarters on the second.
