Once a simple outpost fort on the southern road out of Ardoc, Crossroad has become a prosperous village where caravans stop and the farm villages and herders of the Plains look for trade and protection. The Ardoc lancers, the light calvary regiment of the land, are now headquartered here. The original fort is now the keep of Lady Ebon and her guard. While a mixed community, the primary population is human and human mixed bloods. The keep stands across a large dusty fieldstone square from the main town with a large well in the center. The main village is constructed with all buildings facing in forming a protective wall of dressed field stone twelve feet high with several large buildings on the edges of the square. A near permanent grouping of tents has cropped up on the NW corner of the square where brisk trade takes place.
1. Keep of Lady Ebon
The outer walls are 20’ high with the main tower keep inside standing over 35’ high that are entered through a 12’ wide opening secured by to heavy iron bound oak doors closed in time of peril. Two smaller buildings are also located against the inner walls (bldgs 14 and 22). The lower floors of the keep are for meetings and business with upper floors serving as personal living space.
2. Dusty Square Inn
A stout building on the square, the timber and stone inn is one of the only buildings not part of the main village but rather free standing. The proprietor is a gregarious half orc named Fezzig. Travellers are always present.

3. Barracks and Stables of the Ardoc Lancers
Housing 40 lancers and 60 mounted archers, they are organized into groups of 20 with 2 to 3 groups in the field at any time on patrol. A knight commander leads each group with a sgt at arms responsible for the mounted archers of each section. Sir Murgo is overall commander.
4. Shrine to Vandaren
As a caravan stop, this is was one of the only shrines where a cleric is always on staff to offer blessings for the road to those who ask. Goran the weary serves in this capacity from the small room attached to the shrine.
5. Temple to Honrar
This small temple is on the south side of the square. Erost the swordhand is chief cleric administering the laws of his lord with the aid of several lower ranked clerics. Sir Garvin sits as current Sword of Justice as a knight of the Brotherhood of the Sword.
6. Temple of Saulen
The temple rests as the anchor to the main village looking down the main street to the keep. White Limestone steps lead up to a gleaming gates each with a large golden sun mounted proclaiming whom the temple serves. Beyond the gates is an open courtyard with the temple altar. Small rooms line the courtyard with doors facing into the open space. These serve as infirmaries and as the quarters for His radiance Orgmon, Teacher of the Sun and his wife, Lustra, Healer of the Sun. Several lesser acolytes assist them in the day to day of the temple.
8. Shrine to Sylvamond
A small grove with a simple altar to Sylvamond where any who know her can seek respite. Currently no cleric serves here.
9. Wending Way Tavern
a. Tavern Proper – Run by Miss Harper, the tavern is bustling spot in the midst of the more permanent business in town. Offering basic food and drink with a single common room upstairs, a favorite for the locals and the nearby villages. common area 3 sp, bath – 5sp, meal – 1sp, mulled ale, wine or cider – 5cp (better quality than at inn).
10. Crossroads Smithey
A noisy bustling forge where several younger member of the Cold Iron Guild work under the tutelage of Master Jorgan. Simple armor and weapons as well as most common household metal items can be made or repaired. For a price, Master Jorgan can create far more sophisticated items including master crafted items. There is always at least one Martial Weapon on display in way of advertising
11. Endark Traders
Focusing on dried goods and basic household items, this store is a great place to acquire rations, clothing and the like, the local general store. Occasionally, lesser potions and scrolls can be had as well.

13. The Mill
Driven by Oxen, the harvested wheat from surrounding farmships is brought in for grinding to flower.
14. Office of the Lord’s Explorers
Thomas of Ardoc serves as the Lord’s Representative in Crossroad. He handles all contracts and assignments in this region.
15. Tivil’s Tailors
Tival is an elderly half-elf who runs this shop with the help of his two daughters. Many prefinished items are available from common to fine. For a 10%-20% adder, items can be custom fitted and for another 10%-20%, items can be custom made.
16. Equine Experts
On the open stockyards, Benjamin trades in horses. No warhorses but pony’s, mules, and horses both heavy and light.
17. Honest Abe’s Traders
Part Pawnshop, part general store, Honest Abe has a little of everything and will buy just about anything. Abe is a master trader.
18. The Canvas Tankard
With two sides rolled up unless the snow is flying, the rough plank floors keep the worst of the mud from entering with all the patrons who come and go. Simple ale and cider as well as harder liquor is available. 1-2cp
19. Lowing Range Livestock
Oxen and cattle are sold by Simic the hearty. (note: Semic of Lowing Range is twin brother to Sedic)
20. Ardoc Cattle Exchange
Farmer’s, herders and ranchers trade with the all interests of the land in this open forum maintained by Lady Ebon. Outside of several guards, no single person runs the show. A simple 1% tithe is all that is required by her Lady.

22. Sedic’s Transport
Space on wagons or pack trains can be arranged to move goods within Ardoc by negotiating with Sedic or one of his employees. A large scale is suspended from the tent center pole to weigh smaller goods for pricing. Insurance can also be purchased to cover loss. If interested in caravan duty, Sedic can be approached for contract work in that field as well. (note: Semic of Lowing Range is twin brother to Sedic)
23. Her Ladies Guards
Led by Sir Baric, 36 well trained men at arms protect the lady as well as walking the town in groups of three to keep the peace.

A group for her ladies guards is stationed at each tower
25. Out of the Way Tavern
Deep into town, this is definitely more about the local townsfolk than travelers. Run by Lucy Kurls, simple fare and simple drinks are available.

26. General Arcana and Books
Carrying a wide range of books, maps and scrolls, this is an out of the way little store. Keeping a low profile, the store owner is Sinclair the Forlorn. Besides the books, some of the supplies required for spells as well as some more unusual items on display as well. (An old ivory horn amidst many other stuffed animals and feathers is the only item of real power. Horn of fog 2,000 gp base, will sell for 2700 min).
27. Merchant’s Guild Branch Office
With two sturdy guard’s present at all times, Tharrik Thin Blood offers standard lending, banking and trading services of the guild.
